OpenStyle Battle provides a platform for dancers to showcase their freestyle skills and express themselves through improvisational dance. It is open to all A league Senior dancers, regardless of their usual dance style in DanceStar Classical, Open, or Urban Chapter competitions. 3 Judges from different dancing backgrounds will look for the best freestyle dancers able to adapt to any music or style.
Preselection Round
This year we'll have a special preselection round. It will take place on Thursday 23rd of May from 10:00 a.m.(CEST) till 02:00 p.m. (CEST), at Parentium Hall. Dancers will be able to come at any moment during that time span and show us their moves. They will have the option to select the style of music (but not specific songs) for their freestyles so they can present themself in the best way possible - 45 seconds for each freestyler.
Judges will then choose 20 dancers for the final round.
Final Challenge
Taking place in the A League hall on Thursday 23rd of May, get ready for a spectacular display of creativity and interpretation, the Openstyle Battle is not something you want to miss. The chosen 20 dancers from preselection will enter another final selection round – with the same rules as in preselection. The Judges will then choose the dancers for the battles. In the battles, dancers must adapt their skills to different music styles, which could range from Classical, Open, or Urban Chapters.
1 on 1 Battles: Each dancer will have two entrances, 1 min each. Only 4 winners will enter the next round 1 on 1.
Battle for 3rd Place: The two dancers who lost in the previous round will compete for 3rd place. Each will have two entrances, lasting 1 minute and 30 seconds each.
Battle for 1st Place: The two winners will face off for the championship. Each dancer will have two entrances, lasting 1 minute and 30 seconds each + one special additional round. |
